BRITISH VOGUE – “I’m used to cold houses,” Jenna Coleman murmurs politely, batting away our offers of blankets and coats. It’s true: diamonds, show-stopping gowns and stately homes have been the norm for her ever since she took the title role in Victoria, the first series of which aired last year.
As we wander through Syon House, she twirls in the floor-length dresses with an easy grace that she learned from the show’s production designer, Michael Howells. (Top tip: bend at the hip when you’re walking up stairs to keep the skirt looking full.)
It’s only when the tiaras are packed away that she reveals her secret: hot-water bottles and wellies hidden under the fabric between takes.
