Today is the last day of 2016, and within a few hours, wherever you are in the world, we will be entering 2017. Jenna has been incredibly busy this year, promoting “Me Before You” and the first season of “Victoria”. As the year is ending, I thought it would be great to go over everything our girl has been up to these 12 last months. Click on ‘Continue Reading’ below to read the whole review post!
After spending most of 2015 promoting her last season of “Doctor Who”, Jenna started 2016 attending two conventions. On January 9, she attended the Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans held at New Orleans Morial Convention Center, in Louisiana; followed by Magic City Comic Con in Miami on January 16. In February, the first trailer for “Me Before You” was released, and on the 9th of that month, she attended the ‘So It Goes x Burberry: The Future of British Film’ event, an event which celebrated emerging British talent in film ahead of the 69th British Academy Film Awards. On February 12, she attended the Weinstein x Grey Goose Pre-BAFTA Party, where she reunited with “Me Before You” co-star, Emilia Clarke. Then, on February 13, Jenna attended the Louis Vuitton Pre-BAFTA Party.
In March, a first look at Jenna’s new drama series, “Victoria”, was released by ITV. May was a busy month for Jenna, who finished filming “Victoria”. The first “Me Before You” stills in which she appeared were released. On May 25, Jenna attended the European premiere of “Me Before You”, held in London. She looked gorgeous, wearing a beautiful Burberry gown. To complete this month, she attended the after party for the launch of the ‘Christian Dior Cruise 2017 Collection’ on May 31. In June, she attended the ‘The Spoils’ After Party in London as well as two conventions: the Fan Expo Dallas & the Awesome Con 2016 in Washington DC, where she reunited with “Doctor Who” co-star, Peter Capaldi. On June 7, she attended the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards in London in a beautiful Chloe dress.
On June 10, Jenna attended a Burberry Private Event during the London Collections Men SS17 in London – and a few days later, the launch party of the Tate Modern extension. The first stills of “Victoria” were also released, and to finish off the month of June, Jenna attended the Victoria&Albert Museum Summer Party in London. On July 5, she flew to Paris to attend the Vogue Foundation Gala 2016 during Paris Fashion Week.
Jenna was back on English soil the next day, where she attended the Serpentine Summer Party. July 28 marked the beginning of the “Victoria” promotion. She attended the TCA Summer Tour to promote the show, which will premiere in America in January 2017. No UK date had been announced yet at the time. On August 11, Jenna attended the premiere for “Victoria”, held at the Kensington Palace in London, looking absolutely stunning in a Erdem dress. She also was a guest on ‘Good Morning Britain’ to promote the show.
On August 22, Jenna attended the launch of Burberry’s new fragrance, ‘My Burberry Black’ in London. I have no words for the Burberry dress she was wearing, which is, in my opinion, one of her best looks of the year. The end of August marked the premiere of “Victoria” in the UK, which aired on August 28 on ITV. She also was a guest on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show to talk about the show. To celebrate her Glamour cover, Jenna attended the magazine’s dinner, threw in her honour in London. To kick things off in September, she was a guest on BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans Breakfast Show – it was also announced Jenna would join the “Thunderbirds Are Go” season 2. Mid-September, Jenna attended the London Fashion Week. She made an appearance at both the Erdem Fashion Show and the Burberry show.
To complete the month of September, Jenna attended the Burberry And Bafta In Conversation At Makers House. It was also revealed that “Victoria” would be renewed for a second season. The beginning of October was marked by her appearance at the New York Comic Con, where she reunited with “Doctor Who” co-stars and friends, Matt Smith and Alex Kingston. On October 17, she flew to Cannes, France, where she attended a photocall to promote “Victoria”. Later that day, she attended the MipCom Gala.
In November, Jenna attended quite a few events. She started by making an appearance at the Burberry Celebration for its short movie, ‘The Tale of Thomas Burberry’ on the first of the month. On November 16, she attended the Kent & Curwen Dinner With Mr Porter, a fashion event thrown in David Beckham’s honour and the next day, the L’Orla SS17 Resort Collection Launch. As ambassador for Place2Be, Jenna attended the Place2Be Wellbeing in Schools Awards held in London on November 22.
In December, Jenna attended the British Fashion Awards 2016 in London, wearing a gorgeous Erdem London dress. On the 13th, she was a guest at the Nordoff Robbins Carol Service 2016 with “Victoria” co-star Tom Hughes. Lastly, on December 21, Jenna attended her last event of the year – a VIP Screening of ‘Sing Street’, hosted by Harvey Weinstein & Dominic West.
With “Victoria” being released in 2016, Jenna was featured on a few magazines. Her first photoshoot of the year was taken during the TCA Summer Tour. She was also photographed for The Guardian, The Telegraph, the Huffington Post UK and Vogue US.
But our favourite shoot this year definitely is the one she did for Glamour UK (October). She graced the magazine’s cover with such beauty, it is impossible not to like this shoot.
And that’s a wrap! But what’s next for Jenna next year? In 2017, Jenna will be back with the second season of “Victoria”.
I would also like to wish a very happy new year to all our visitors and followers on Twitter – and obviously, I wish a fantastic upcoming year to Jenna and her close ones.
